Model Train Layout O
I have a design or scale. I have an MTH locomotive that has stuck. the motor turns on but the engine will not forward or back. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. the train is a MTH Dash-8 diesel engine - 3 Horn Rail. Cabin No. 560Operates O-31, Electronics Digital Horn, two motors w / wheels fly DCRU "Faros electronic reverse drive" and direction. Its headlights and interior lights will go on training but does not move. It will not move to another section of the track, while other trains will run on the track. Sounds like you have a blockage somewhere in the mechanism. Remove Carefully body. There must be a screw or screws holding the mechanism. Then check to see if any lint or other foreign objects have gotten into gear. The model trains are prone to this type of problem. Ensure that all electrical contacts are clean, including the switch engine (the part that comes in contact with the brushes) and pills that draw current from the track. Lubricate the motor shaft and the gears and shafts in moderation, with a light oil such as 3-in-1 or similar. If indicated on the package is suitable for sewing machines or other electric light fixtures, it is good for your model. All you need is a drop in the tip of a pin and then wipe off excess with a cotton swab. Refit the model and make sure the track is clean - a pad of cloth soaked in alcohol lint burning or special cleaning fluid to the track and is sold in stores is the best model - under any circumstances use any abrasive. If your model does not work after this bit of TLC I suggest you contact the manufacturer and ask their advice.
