UCL libraries have more than 1,500,000 books, with over 1,500 workstations. The Central Library is under the dome in Gower Street, while the new Library of Medicine has some of the best medical facilities in Europe. There is also a large collection of science, and 12 specialized libraries. Many departments also have libraries. UCL students, like all students at the University of London, you can use the principal of the University Senate House of the collection. There are quite a few computer areas, but these tend to be in libraries. There any 24-hour access, but not in the library facilities principal. The facilities are very up to date equipment and many flat panel monitors. Some of the new or renovated rooms also have Internet access and plans to extend further. UCL has many sports facilities, but these often have a price. They own Shenley Watford consisting of training. The national team of Argentina also played here before playing in England. The facility has 10 beds lighting for football, rugby, cricket, etc. 6 tracks grass tennis, and some hard courts. There are also brand new changing rooms, bar and conference rooms. The Bloomsbury Fitness Centre was refurbished in the summer of 2003 and renamed Bloomsbury Fitness. The membership fee is £ 120 pa for UCL students, but the facilities are quite good and certainly cheaper than other health clubs in London. In general, facilities for the disabled are very good with ramps and elevators in most places. However, this may depend largely on the department. Some changes can be done if necessary. The University Counseling deal with three full-time consultants and part-time psychiatrists. The Student Union has a Centre for Human Rights and Advice, who can advise on issues such as housing, drugs, immigration and finance. There are also a number of welfare groups, including LGB Society. Parking is very expensive so it is best to take public transport, despite some complaints, it is quick and easy. The Union has also negotiated deals with good transport London for student travel cards etc. The University has recently reduced its commercial offering by eliminating the travel shop and make the copy center for binding only business. However, there is still well-stocked general store called The Bear and a hairdresser. There is a huge branch of Waterstones nearby, just across the ULU street. There is also a second-hand bookshop on the 3rd floor every Friday. This is particularly good for English, Classics and History students. There NatWest bank on the main site of the university and the HSBC cash machine. In the Student Union is not a machine of Lloyd's in cash. There branches of all major banks in the United Kingdom, within walking distance.
