Greece - Pelion - The people of Milies
Milies is 28 km from Volos, capital of Magnesia, and is one of the most popular villages of Pelion, and the center of the municipality. Has 1,500 permanent residents and is located in the beautiful verdant valley Milies. The village has a great mythological and historical tradition, and offers a different things to see, a fact that has helped him become one of the most important Pelion.
Mill is the home of Anthimos Gazis, Grigoris Konstanta and Daniel Filippidis, and is a place steeped in tradition, with a negotiating history, art and culture. Milian is also a place where the flag was raised the revolution of 1821. In Milies, you can find a well-established school, public library and also the end of the season for the railway line Pelion, "Moutzouris."

Milies Public Library which houses over 3,500 rare books, manuscripts, letters, school materials and the original flag raised by Gazis Anthimos revolution.
The Folklore Museum with an important collection of folk art, clothing and other materials.
The Temple Taxiarhes with innovative and unique construction pictures religious.
The train station "Mountzouris" and the iron bridge, built in the 20th century by Evaristo de Chirico.
Close to the station train the monument of the fallen.
St Nicholas Temple, which houses the tombs of Anthimos Gazis, Konstanta Filipidis Grigorios and Daniel.
Milies High School, which was built on the site of the former School Milies, and the stadium with its amphitheater-like seating.
The churches of St. Athanasius and St. Haralambos Athos, located between Milies and Vyzitsa. The small church of Taxiarhis Michail, located after the bridge, "De Chirico" iron. The small church of Agia Triada, Agia Marina, San Juan and the old monastery of St. Nicholas.
Things to do
Take a stroll through the traditional routes across the town or the mountain. From Vyzitsa, there are many paths suitable for walking. Try Vyzitsa way to the train station Milies. It is a short walk and easy. Another interesting part of the route road near the temple Zoodohos Pigi. Happens to the falls and the solution Argireika and ends at Kala Nera. Vizitsa is also an ideal starting point for excursions by car.
There are many things to do in Milies, ideal for visitors should spend a few days there. Apart from the monuments, there are many points of interest to discover through age pathways.
For those who like walking, there are many routes, offering tours of different levels of difficulty. We recommend Milies - Ano Lechonia way along the railway line, the Milies - Kala Nera and the route known Milies - Tsagkarada road, which passes through the Natura 2000 (GR1430001) and the Wildlife Refuge San Dimitrios wild-ITAM.
Those who like horseback riding you can visit the Equestrian Centre Koropi.
During the summer, you can visit the beautiful beaches AFIS and Kala Nera Koropi in the Gulf Kalamki Pagasitikos and the Aegean coast.
The cultural club Milies, Grigorios Konstanta, organizes a series of activities, such as the festival of Agia Paraskevi on July 26. If you're lucky, you can witness a marriage or a baptism in the town square and the square is the place to find the village of cafes and restaurants.
